Woolloongabba Bikeway Project Design - Q&A/Consultation Session

Brisbane City Council has (finally) produced a detailed design proposal for the Woolloongabba Bikeway Project, which involves installing low barriers and a wider bike lane along Stanley St and a whole bunch of changes for Annerley Road. I'm generally quite supportive of this project, although I do have some minor concerns about the likely flow-on traffic impacts to other parts of the road network.

This is an important project to improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians, and should help take cars off the road by encouraging more people to ride their bikes.

Details about the project can be found at this link:

The council is holding an information session at Boggo Road Gaol on the afternoon and evening of Thursday, 7 September from 4pm to 7pm. This will be a chance to ask specific questions about the details of the proposal, and to offer your feedback (both positive and negative).

Come along to share your thoughts. If you support more bike lanes in other parts of Brisbane, this will be a good chance to let the council know.
