The development of the land above the Gabba station site and the Boggo Road station are both incredible opportunities for the local community. The Gabba site on its own represents 5.5 hectares of land which could be use to provide highly needed green space, social and public housing or community facilities such as bookable rooms, art studios, libraries, swimming pools etc.
Unfortunately the State Government's vision so far portrays up to 12 high rise towers, which will not only put additional stress on the already constrained infrastructure, but also remove the existing green space next to the Gabba stadium.
As the election approaches, we need commitment from State government MPs about what they want for this space, and we need the community's voice to be heard.
If you also think we cannot let this opportunity pass us by, help us spread the word and sign up to be a volunteer.
We will get in touch with you to see how your time could be best used.
Thank you for caring about the future of our neighbourhoods!
