Our beloved Meanjin Reggae Festival is coming up again on Saturday, 18 November in Musgrave Park, and we'll be running a Radical Futures Lounge space to facilitate discussions about important issues.
We'll have a few picnic blankets and stools for people to chill out on while you take a break from dancing.
Come along just for an hour to drop in on a particular session, or hang out in the park all afternoon to get up to speed on a range of different topics, from renters rights to what's going on in Palestine.
The space will be running from about 12:30pm to 5pm, with different talks and workshops throughout the afternoon.
At this stage, our draft program (subject to change) is as follows:
12:30pm to 2pm: Genocide in Palestine: What's going on and what can we do about it?
2pm to 3pm: Legalise It! Community forum on decriminalising possession and cultivation of cannabis
3pm to 4pm: The rent is too damn high: Greens housing policy forum
4pm to 5pm: Urban life in a warming climate: How prepared are Brisbane's higher-density neighbourhoods for global warming?
