It Takes Strength: domestic and family violence policies

Join us for a discussion about what is broken and what should be fixed in the policies that govern domestic/family violence.

You’ve heard the statistic many times before: in Australia, one woman is killed by a partner or former partner every week of the year. So why aren’t we calling this a domestic security crisis? Featuring a panel of speakers with expertise in front-line and community responses, these women have important things to tell.

Come along to understand how people respond to violence, and what more we could be doing to help people who seek safety. A panel discussion open to people of all genders and backgrounds, organised by Cr Jonathan Sri from the Gabba Ward of the Brisbane City Council, as part of Domestic Violence Prevention Month.

This is a free event, but bookings are essential because capacity is limited.
