Better Planning for Sustainable Communities: a Forum

Why are so many developments being approved that ignore Neighbourhood Plans, and the wishes and needs of local communities?

What does it mean for our suburbs, schools and parks?

How can we make better planning decisions in the future and give power back to the community?

Hosted by Jonathan Sri, Councillor for The Gabba Ward, join us to discuss the issues facing our growing western suburbs and how best to address them.

This is a free community event for all Brisbane residents, and we would like to particularly extend our invitation to those in the suburbs of Auchenflower, Bardon, Fig Tree Pocket Indooroopilly, Mt Coot-tha, Rosalie, St Lucia, Taringa and Toowong.

Jonathan Sri: Councillor Sri was elected to the BCC while campaigning strongly for more consistency and more local input on planning decisions. Jonathan was instrumental in encouraging the calling in of the controversial 'West Village' development in the heart of West End.

Michael Berkman: Michael is a Community Legal Centre lawyer & Greens candidate for Maiwar. A long-time community advocate, Michael has championed the rights of communities across Queensland against damaging developments.
