There’s a movement growing here in Brissie’s inner-south side that has the potential to fundamentally change our city and our lives. A big win for the Greens here in the Gabba will have reverberations throughout Queensland.
Decarbonisation, decolonisation and a greater emphasis on public transport and affordable housing are things that I will be pushing for. What do you think The Greens should build a mandate for in this election?
If you’re interested in helping make this city more beautiful, joyful, equitable and democratic, please come along to Turnstyle at 4pm on Saturday, 7 September. We’re holding a Saturday arvo forum to unpack the strategy and underlying philosophy of the 2020 Gabba Ward campaign.
There’ll be presentations on our campaign vision, goals and tactics by campaign managers Elena and Declan and myself, followed by a community potluck dinner from 6pm (feel free to bring food to share if you can, but no pressure). This will be a great opportunity for discussion and input regarding what we’re all trying to achieve.
If you don’t have time to attend meetings or get involved as a volunteer, you can also support the campaign by making a donation through this link: www.jonathansri.com/donate
Please share this around and invite your friends!
Turnstyle is at 10 Laura St, Highgate Hill, about 500m from South Bank train station. Unfortunately the space isn’t fully wheelchair accessible, but does have ramp access to the main meeting area. We want to do our best to accommodate everyone, so shoot us a FB message if you’re thinking of coming and have any questions.
