World Music fundraiser for Brisbane Multicultural organisations

Dancers of the world, unite!

Join us for a special themed night at No Lights No Lycra. Dance to music from around the world, and helps us raise funds for two community organisations that help Brisbane's international population: World Wellness Group and Radio 4EB's Multicultural Magazine

For one night only, No Lights No Lycra Brisbane will have a special playlist with songs from all over the world. A time to dance independently in the company of others, an opportunity to exercise at your own pace while having fun to some weird and wonderful music that reflects the mixed heritage of our city.

In order for people to get into the groove of the music, this event happens in a dimly lit room. With the lights out people can truly dance for an hour without worrying about what they look like. You can still see shapes in the dark so you won't bump into others! This is a place to exercise at your own pace while having fun. It's not about technique or being a ‘good’ dancer, it’s about the experience of dancing with no one watching and the joy that this brings. The event is open to people of all ages, genders, backgrounds and demographics.

Please note that for the security of all dancers, we can only allow 250 people on the night, so be sure to come early! BYO water and comfortable clothes to dance in

Admission is $6 (cash only). We'll have a donations tin to help raise extra funds towards two amazing local organisations:

  • World Wellness Group is a community clinic in Stones Corner that combines Eastern and Western medicine, specialising in caring for refugees and migrants from Brisbane southside and beyond.

  • Radio 4EB's Multicultural Magazine presents English-language programs about multicultural stories and ideas from Brisbane. This fundraiser is part of the station's 2017 Radiothon celebrations
